Long description for slide: Sharing synchronous discussions & remarks

This simplified image has:

  1. sequential processing channel (tactile channel as an example)
  2. arrows describing the flow from two competing information sources arriving to one sequential channel through black box containg focus strategies
  3. the two information sources: first one is audio discussion that is being captioned to text window, second one is a text chat discussion (e.g. irc) also in a text window

Sometimes focus is automatically shifted according to which text window has events. This may be disturbing from cognitive processing point of view. More research is needed in what kinds of automations are helpful or what kinds of cues can be used to tell the user new information is available. The user always needs to have the final control of which information to focus on.

Note: We also have the same problem with several audio information sources are competing of the same audio channel.
